Accuracy includes correcting the record. Send a concern to TockHK@tockhk.com with “TockNYC correction” in the subject line.
What to include
- The story URL.
- The sentence, caption or figure that needs checking.
- A reliable source showing the correct information, if available.
- A way to contact you if clarification is needed.
How a correction is handled
We recheck the disputed claim against the available evidence. If it is wrong, we correct the text. For a material error, the story should carry a dated correction note explaining the change. An update that adds new information should be identified as an update rather than a correction.
Minor spelling or formatting fixes need not carry a separate note unless they change the meaning. We do not silently alter a story’s substantive meaning to hide an error.
Removal and rights concerns
Send the page address, the material at issue, why you believe it should be corrected or removed, and your contact details. Requests are assessed on their evidence and circumstances; criticism alone is not a reason to remove a story. Where appropriate, a correction or explanatory note can preserve the record instead of deleting it.
